Catherine Dorant is a designer, photographer, horse girl, and friend,
Born and raised in Chicago, her path to flowers wasn’t always obvious. As a child, she admired Martha Stewart and devoured bridal magazines, captivated by every detail. After college, she spent a decade in the advertising industry, but her heart kept pulling her toward something more soulful.
In 2019, she joined her husband, Michael, in growing Coach House Plants, a botanical design studio specializing in interior landscapes. Flower design soon became a natural extension of their work, shaped in part by Michael’s ten years at the storied Old Town flower shop, A New Leaf. Weddings quickly became a meaningful focus, leading to the creation of Ceremony by Coach House—an homage to flowers and their ability to turn any moment into its own quiet celebration.
